Our daily schedule of classes will help your pup learn and grow
We offer 3-hour or 6-hour schdules for dog classes, pick-up and drop-off is also an option within the greater Boston area. This service will let your pup learn one-on-one or alongside other dogs in a group-setting environment. Our trainers are certified AKC Evaluators, including qualifications in the S.T.A.R. program and the Canine Good Citizen program. They will work with your dog throughout the class on basic obedience including commands like: Sit, Stay, Lay, Leave It, Off, Place, Loose-Leash Walking, Impulse Control, and Agility. Along with training, your dog will get the opportunity to interact and play with the other dogs in the program.
Middle & Walking
Like many movement commands, Middle is an excellent for controlling your pup in crowded places and potentially dangerous situations. It's also helpful for building the foundation for other, more complicated commands.
Middle is a command that teaches your dog to come to your side and sit in the heel position. Training them to walk with you involves praising them for staying in the correct position and correcting them when they stray. Like any type of training, being consistent and working on the command regularly will help your dog learn it faster.
Leave It
Leave it is a command that teaches your dog to ignore something. It's a great command for keeping your dog from eating something they shouldn't or chasing after something that could be dangerous. It's also a great command for teaching your dog to ignore other dogs or people when you're out on a walk.
To train the "Leave it" command, show your dog a treat in your closed hand, say "Leave it" when they show interest, and reward with a different treat from your other hand when they back off. Gradually progress to placing items on the ground and using the same method, reinforcing the concept that "Leave it" means to avoid the item.
Agility
Agility training is beneficial for dogs as it enhances their physical fitness and coordination, promoting overall health. It provides mental stimulation and helps build a strong sense of obedience and teamwork between the dog and its owner. It can also be a fun and engaging way for dogs to release excess energy, reducing the risk of behavioral problems stemming from boredom and pent-up energy.
